Follow these steps immediately

Drop to hands and knees. Get under a sturdy table or desk. Hold on and protect your head and neck with your arms.

Stay Away From Windows
Move away from windows, bookshelves, and heavy objects that could fall.

Don't Run Outside
Stay inside until shaking stops. Most injuries happen when people try to run outside.

After Shaking Stops
Check for injuries. Turn off gas if you smell it. Open doors before the building settles.

Evacuate If Necessary
If building is damaged or tsunami warning issued, evacuate immediately to high ground or designated shelter.
